Why are doulas important?
Doulas provide support in the form of offering breathing techniques during labor, empowering mothers to advocate for their health care preferences, facilitating communication with providers, sharing guidance with mothers' loved ones, and providing breastfeeding assistance.
Let me introduce them:

She is passionate about providing Elgin Doula families with so much more than just pregnancy and birth support. She believes in providing clients with evidence-based information to guide them through their birth preparation, this is the key to having a positive birth outcome. As much as we plan, we cannot always control the path our birth takes, so it's important to be empowered with knowledge through childbirth education and prenatal preparation. Rebekkah’s number one goal is ensuring every family is treated with kindness, respect, and nurturing care. Her wish is to provide all birthing persons (and their partners) the opportunity to feel supported, learn, grow, and be empowered to have their own positive birth experience.

Christa is a certified Birth and Bereavement Doula, as well as a mother of three.
I had a doula for my first birth in 2017, and started to become really interested in birth and everything that comes with it.
All three of my births were very different, and each one opened my eyes a bit more to the gaps in the maternal health system. After having my two boys in 2020, (one in January and the other in November) I knew it was time for me to follow my calling.
I've gained a ton of experience working as an on-call doula for a midwife group and have attended many workshops and additional trainings to further my knowledge in all things birth. I'm currently completing my training to become a Certified Lactation Educator and am a Placenta Specialist.
I am a very adaptable, non-judgmental, highly empathetic person who truly cares about each and every one of my clients.
I offer evidence-based information to my clients and support them in their choices 100%. It doesn't matter to me if you want to get an epidural or not, or if you plan on giving birth in a hospital or not. What matters to me is that you feel seen, heard, and respected throughout your pregnancy and birth
